I Don't Word Good

"An educated citizenry is a vital requisite for our survival as a free people."

-Thomas Jefferson

On the ride home from work this evening I spent most of the drive thinking about this very blog. What often holds me back from posting more (which I really want to do) is that I am not the greatest when it comes to writing. I came to the realization that I’m probably better at crafting a story through my photographs than trying to sit here and string together adjectives to describe whatever event or activity I’m posting about. Don’t even get me started on the times I do actually post something and my mother then messages me correcting all of my grammatical errors.

When I had a think about what it is I liked from some of the blogs I read is that I often come away from them learning something. I too would like my own blog to be a source of learning for the people that stumble upon it. Take for example the “Cars & Coffee" post I made a few months back…I regret not singling out some of the photos I took that day and elaborating on some of those cars. I really feel that could have been a good platform to educate readers on one of my favorite subjects.

In conclusion to sum this post up, the photographs will still be here, but I will try to accompany them with better content. Expect to see more Wikipedia facts, (I love Wikipedia) thoughtful quotes, and some excerpts from some of the interesting facts I come across on a daily basis.

Also I’ve launched an archive of my images, you can find it here. It’s pretty sparse at the moment but my plan is to add to it over the coming months. (I have something like 25,000 photos to sort through) Every image should be available to download and if you would like to print one of my photos I suggest doing it through the site. I make 1% profit on prints sold through there.

So with all of that being said, yesterday morning I woke up at 5am to catch the sunrise here in Hoboken, the lovely Victoria (still half asleep) came with me. I had a particular photo in mind and spent most of the night before thinking about how to compose it. Unfortunately the shot I wanted didn’t pan out however I was still able to salvage the morning with a few sunrise snapshots. As an added bonus we walked over to Starbucks, grabbed a couple of coffees and hung out by the water. A satisfactory morning.
